A day out of the North Devon office today for some of the team to visit some of the projects that we have on on the south coast of Devon. Today started with a meeting with the planners for a project we have on in Lyme Regis, a new build one of house on the Jurassic coast overlooking Chippel Bay out to Lyme Bay and beyond. The site was bought by our clients from the National Trust and offers an unrivaled view over Lyme and the wider coastal path and will be a fabulous house when complete. The meeting with the planning officer from Dorset Council was positive and the planning application is set for submission in early April, so we will be able to share our ideas then but until then: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8dP1dWgEZW/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
From there we visited our first project in Budleigh Salterton which is now almost complete, the recent bad weather has meant that the external landscaping is yet to be finalised but the building is now ready to be photographed and placed on the market. We are really pleased with how Gary Dobel the local builder has completed the project and hope that the new owners will enjoy the building. The project is particularly pleasing to see almost finished as the clients had a challenging planning process initially on the site, with previous application being refused prior to OCRA involvement. Our suggestion to break the building volumes down turned out to be the way of unlocking the site balancing the clients spatial needs and the concerns from east Devon planning team. Finally we headed on to our project in Axminster / Kilmington of an alteration to an existing house which is just getting underway.
